The Borough of Poole covers an area of 30 square miles and situated between the A31 from London to the South West and the A35 to Dorchester. There are direct transport links to Southampton and onto the M3. Bournemouth Airport is about 20 minutes from Poole with many domestic and international destinations.
The Port which lies in the heart of the town centre operates regular ferry services from Poole to Cherbourg.
Poole Town Centre is situated in the heart of the Borough of Poole, and stretches from the waters edge at Poole Quay up to the newly refurbished Lighthouse, Poole Centre for the Arts.
The town centre is being transformed with an enormous amount of investment coming into the town.
The newly refurbished Lighthouse, Poole Centre for the Arts has recently opened its door again after an £8 million makeover. On Poole Quay, new developments including Dolphin Quays, a multi million pound mixed use development including housing and retail is being built on the old Poole Pottery site.
The summer season in Poole Town centre includes a major events programme on Poole Quay. Operating under the banner of T2F (Tuesday to Friday), Poole Tourism organises special evenings of entertainment that can be found on our Whats On programme.

Poole was the first town in the South West of England to win the Safer Shopping Award, as well as the Safe Car Parks Award.
Poole's harbour is the largest natural harbour in Europe and the second largest in the world.
The Poole Bridge Regeneration Initiative will aim to regenerate 46 hectares of land, a new harbour crossing, 5300 new jobs, 63,000 square metres of business and employment floorspace, 200 new live/work units, 3 new hotels, 1 new foodstore, 1,200m of new public waterfront within the next 5/10 years.
Poole has an above average against GB figures of ABC1's.
